Interview: Dee Dellato Senior Helpers
We are continuing our spotlight on businesses that do an outstanding job of using online and social media to grow and promote their customer base.
This week we are featuring Senior Helpers in Loveland, CO who provide quality and dependable in-home care to seniors.
I recently had an opportunity to conduct an interview with their brilliant Marketing Manager Dee Dellatto. Her articles have been featured in the Loveland Daily Reporter Herald, Northern Colorado Business Report and she has made appearances on numerous local radio stations all promoting the community and her organization. She also does an excellent job of utilizing online marketing and social media to expand the presence of Senior Helpers.
Now on to the interview with Dee:
Q: How did you get involved with Senior Helpers?
A: I have always had a passion for Marketing in general. I was working as a Cinderella overhearing talking in the adjacent office about wanting to do more for their company in a Marketing aspect. I bugged the owner to give me a chance for months, then much to my surprise it finally came!
Q: You do a terrific job of using traditional and social media to spread the word about your organization. What role has online marketing and social media played in growing your business?
A: As I’m sure you know, online marketing is the fastest growing type of marketing thanks to all the social networks that are now helping me advertise for FREE! It’s completely a domino effect, I can post one good thing and it spreads so quickly through your community.
I have found that more people are visual learners, so why not use it to your advantage? Marketing isn’t just about putting a product out there, it’s making a mental note in your potential customers head. I have seen over and over I get more replies the more I follow up and thank people for just checking out my links, photo’s, articles etc…
Q: What tips do you have for other marketers and businesses?
A: We are at an economical hardship right now, if there is FREE marketing and advertising…Take advantage of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, local radio stations, newspapers etc…it’s the most effective, quick and rewarding way to market. And I can’t stress enough, it’s FREE.
I personally have been desperate and wrote e-mails to different publications letting them know if they pass up on an interview with me it’s their loss because I am out to make the community aware. They love persistence and believe it or not they are flattered you went to their publication. Just be confident in everything you do, make sure what you are selling is something you believe in because believe me, people will see through it.
Q: You have a passion for the Northern Colorado community. What can business people do to make a difference?
A: I strongly believe that the business community in Northern Colorado is a wonderful one to be a part of. Everyone is willing to help the next guy. I say this because in a time of need I have never been turned down. I may have not got the business, but I have a great relationship and a potential referral.
Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?
A: I met a women, Dixie Daly, Owner of Tickled Pink Boutique. She opened my eyes to a world full of opportunity; I would like to pass something along that she shared with me. Be clear in what you want. It’s a small statement, but it goes a long way.
